🗓️ Weekly Update — Traditions, Frost, and Finding Quiet Moments

This week felt like a mix of routine, preparation, and a few moments that made us stop and breathe. With three consecutive weeks of chemo starting soon, we're trying to hold onto normal where we can, and keep as many of our family traditions going as possible.

CHEO light display at Magic of Lights in Kanata
Annual tradition: supporting CHEO and taking in the Magic of Lights at Wesley Clover Parks.

One of those traditions is our yearly drive to Kanata for Magic of Lights in support of CHEO — something that feels even more important this year. We wanted to make sure Chloë got to see it before treatment ramps back up, and she lit up at the displays the same way she always has.

Spiky frost forming on tree branches
Morning drop-off surprise — frost that looked like tiny ice crystals growing out of every branch.

We also had one of those small nature moments that stays with you. During morning drop-off, the whole neighbourhood was covered in sharp, spiky frost — the kind that grows outward like little crystals. It didn’t last long, but it made us pause. Sometimes winter has a way of reminding us to look up.

The rest of the week was the usual balance: keeping things steady at home, staying on top of appointments, and giving Chloë space to just be a kid whenever possible. Thank you, truly, for all the support, messages, and kindness you continue to send our way. It makes these heavier stretches feel a little lighter.

Thanks for reading. 💜
