🎗️ Chloë’s Journey Beads

What Are Journey Beads?

Journey Beads are part of a program at CHEO that helps children and teens mark each step of their medical journey. Every bead represents a specific procedure, milestone, or moment—from bloodwork and chemo to surgeries, scans, and even moments of joy.

For families like ours, these beads become more than symbols. They’re tangible reminders of courage, resilience, and the countless moments that shape a child’s experience with cancer. Chloë’s strand tells a story in colour—one bead at a time.

Her actual bead strand: A visual record of every needle, scan, surgery, and moment of strength. From the first blood draw to the hardest days of chemo, each bead holds weight and meaning.

These beads capture the complexity of Chloë’s care — transfusions, admissions, new protocols, and moments of unexpected strength. They’re reminders of how much she’s endured and overcome.

“It’s not just beads. It’s bravery in colour.” — Chloë’s Mom
